  Aim Increase your awareness of children and young people’s experiences of domestic abuse and how it affects and impacts on their lives. Develop an understanding of the prevalence and potential consequences of domestic abuse on children and young people.    Objectives
  • Highlight the experiences of  children and young people living with domestic abuse
  • Examine the possible indicators and consequences for children and young people
  • Consider the coping strategies children and young people use
  • Encourage the notion of partnership working and promote good practice
  • Look at resources available for work with children young people
  • Highlight the role of local support agencies
  Learning Outcomes On completing this training participants will:
  • Understand the difficulties and complexities for children and young people experiencing domestic abuse
  • Recognise the issues children and young people face in disclosing their experiences
  • Know how to give appropriate and effective support
  • Begin to consider applying different practices in the work place
  • Know the resources that are available and  the roles of other agencies
